Constitutional lawyer, Mike Johnson installed as the 56th Speaker of the House

The House ended its three-week hiatus without a Speaker this week with the appointment of Mike Johnson, (R-LA). Johnson is in his fourth term in the House, since 2017 representing Louisiana’s 4th congressional district. Before his service in the House, Johnson served as a Constitutional attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom and is a Bible-believing Christian

Johnson shared in an interview with Sean Hannity, “I’m a Bible-believing Christian” said Johnson. “Go pick up your Bible off your shelf and read it, that’s my worldview. It’s my personal worldview.”

Johnson shared that just because his worldview is Christianity, doesn’t mean everything he believes will become law in the United States. Johnson explained that 435 House of Representatives body comes to the office with deeply personal convictions, but that doesn’t mean their personal beliefs are going to become the rule of law.

“You have to argue and find a consensus and all of that. I have no agenda except what is best for the American people, and to defend the rule of law, and that is what we are doing.”

Johnson shared the core values of the conservative movement including, individual freedom, limited government, rule of law, peace through strength, fiscal responsibility, free markets, and human dignity.
