Chairman Xi’s futile attempt to sinicize religion to the Chinese culture
In a new level of blasphemy not heard of in modern times, the Chinese Community Party has announced a 10-year plan to rewrite the Bible, adjusting key texts to align with their communist, socialist agenda.
Voice of the Martyrs, a Christian organization that tracks persecution of Christianity across the globe first reported the plans in 2022 of the CCP to change the word of God.
“The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) announced plans to update the Bible to “keep pace with the times.” The revisions will include adding “core socialist values” and removing passages that do not reflect communist beliefs. In a textbook for high school students released in September 2020, the authors included a passage from John 8, as revised in their new version. #prayforchina2022“
Congressman Mike Gallagher, R-WI 8th District, wrote on FOX News, an op-ed speaking against the agenda of the CCP.
“A beautiful story of forgiveness and mercy. Unless you’re a CCP official, then it’s a story of a dissident challenging the authority of the state…The rewritten Gospel of John excerpt ends, not with mercy, but with Jesus himself stoning the adulterous woman to death.”
The op-ed piece in FOX shed light on issue and garnered reactions from leaders across the church. Leaders responded to the news, warning about the serious consequences of adding or taking away from the word of God.
Franklin Graham wrote on social media, “The Chinese Communist Party has a 10-year plan to rewrite the Bible. All I can say is—Good luck. The Bible warns about the serious consequences of adding to or taking away from the Word of God. God’s Word never changes, no matter how hard the devil tries.
Graham may have been referencing the text in the Book of Revelation that warns against changing the words of the prophecy. “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.” Revelation 22:8
In the article published on FOX, Mike Gallagher then quoted Chairman Xi at the 19th Party Congress saying this is about sinicizing religion to the Chinese culture, “We will… insist on the sinicization of Chinese religions, and provide active guidance for religion and socialism to coexist.”
Gallagher read between the lines calling out the CCP as nothing but evil, ultimately wanting Chinese believers to bend their knees to the CCP.
