The war on free speech: Biden admin censured COVID information sharing
To say free speech is under attack is an understatement. Not in modern times has the war on information, truth, and lies been more rampant. In a breakthrough moment for Rep. Jim Jordan, he revealed on X through documents obtained the Biden administration forcing the social media giant to remove, censure, and otherwise diminish even true information about COVID.
First, it took Elon Musk paying $44 billion for Twitter for major government overreach to be released, revealing Twitter operated as an extension of the FBI, CIA, and was at the government’s beck and call. Now, as a result of Congress subpoenaing Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg for the release of massive documents proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Biden administration censured and silenced truth.
It remains to be seen what the Biden administration has said, done, and forced national news broadcasts and newspapers to communicate. First Twitter, then Facebook, what was said or pressured at other major news outlets. The importance of an independent and free press can not be overstated, and yet it appears that is exactly what has happened in the United States. Major social media companies take their cues from government bureaucrats, suppressing the truth, and government overreach into the private lives of citizens sharing information.
Rep. Jim Jordan posted to his Twitter account a thread of multiple emails and internal communications at Facebook regarding the mounting pressure from the Biden admin to aggressively monitor and censor COVID-related information, even if it was true.
“In April 2021, a Facebook employee circulated an email for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg, writing: “We are facing continued pressure from external stakeholders, including the [Biden] White House” to remove posts.”
Jordan continued, “What did the Biden White House want removed? A meme. That’s right, even memes weren’t spared from the Biden White House’s censorship efforts.”

So who’s next? What other media company did the Biden admin force to publish certain things and suppress other information? As Thomas Jefferson said to Dr. James Currie in 1786, “our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.”
