Why Every “Peace Deal” That Demands Israel Give Up Land Brings Judgment, Not Security
Pastor Jack Hibbs is raising a prophetic red flag: not all peace is peace.
In his latest podcast and at the Family Research Council’s Pray Vote Stand Summit hosted at his Chino Hills, California church, Hibbs warned that the world may be celebrating “peace in the Middle East” — but it’s peace spelled wrong. “It’s not peace — it’s pieces,” Hibbs said. “Pieces of land, pieces of Israel, pieces given up in exchange for promises that will never hold.”
With renewed global efforts to broker a lasting peace deal brokered by the Trump administration, Hibbs cautioned that every peace plan in modern history has come with the same dangerous condition: Israel must surrender part of its covenant land.
“Every president who’s ever brokered a deal has pushed the same demand,” Hibbs said. “Israel will give up land for peace and agree to a two-state solution. But Islam will never settle for a two-state solution. That’s not peace — that’s deception.”
Hibbs traced the pattern through decades of failed agreements — from Carter and Clinton to Trump — each one promising calm but leaving Israel more vulnerable. He noted that after every major attack on Israel, terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah eventually call for a ceasefire, not repentance. The result, he said, is always the same: they rearm, reload, and attack again.
This time, Hibbs says, could be no different. He pointed out that the recent “peace plan” is being hailed as historic — but underneath the headlines, the ancient spiritual conflict remains unchanged. Terrorists don’t want peace, and Hamas may have freed hostages, but their charter goal is still the destruction of the nation of Israel.
“They don’t want peace with Israel,” Hibbs warned. “They want Israel gone. The chant ‘from the river to the sea’ isn’t just political — it’s theological. Their texts command it.”
Former Congresswoman Michelle Bachman spoke up about this same peace deal at Family Research Council’s Pray Vote Stand event hosted at Hibb’s church two weeks pointing out Israel was on the cusp of totally destroying Hamas, and then Hamas calls for a ceasefire and says Israel is oppressing them so they can reorganize. Bachmann, a former member of the House Intelligence Committee and longtime supporter of Israel, told the audience that what’s unfolding is not just geopolitical strategy — it’s fulfillment of Scripture.
“This isn’t political. This is biblical,” she said. “And what’s going to happen to the United States of America? God will not be mocked when it comes to His people.”
From a biblical perspective, Hibbs drew attention to the warnings found in Joel 3:2, where God declares judgment on those who “divide My land.” The dividing of Israel’s land, Hibbs said, is not a political question — it’s a spiritual one with prophetic implications for the nations that support it.
“Whenever you see peace plans that divide Israel’s land, remember: God’s covenant with Abraham hasn’t changed,” Hibbs said. “He gave that land to Israel forever. Dividing it is crossing a line with God.”
Hibbs urged believers to stay alert, prayerful, and grounded in Scripture.
“The Bible says when they say ‘peace and safety,’ sudden destruction comes,” Hibbs said, referencing 1 Thessalonians 5:3. “Don’t be deceived by the headlines. God’s Word already told us how this ends.”
For Hibbs, the message is clear: true peace will not come through political deals, global summits, or negotiated borders — but through the return of the Prince of Peace Himself.
