“Revolutionary America” Arrives In Theaters May 31–June 2, Offering A Fresh Look At The Convictions That Shaped The Nation
As America approaches the 250th anniversary of its independence, Hillsdale College is bringing the nation’s founding story to the big screen with its first feature-length documentary, Revolutionary America, coming to theaters nationwide through Fathom Entertainment from May 31 through June 2.
Narrated by Tom Selleck, the documentary traces the American Revolution through the lived experiences of those who fought for liberty between 1763 and 1791. The film highlights the political and spiritual principles that motivated America’s founders as they risked their “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor” to establish a republic grounded in self-government and freedom.
According to executive producer Jeremiah Regan, the documentary arrives at a pivotal moment in the nation’s history.
“As we approach the 250th anniversary of American Independence, Revolutionary America will help Americans understand the purpose of the Revolution and the nature of the conflict,” Regan said. “Our founding, made possible through the wisdom, faith, and courage of our forefathers, remains one of history’s most remarkable political achievements.”
The film features commentary and historical insight from Larry P. Arnn, along with Hillsdale faculty and prominent public voices, including Michael J. Knowles, John Lovell, and Eric Metaxas.
Combining primary source accounts, original musical scoring, dynamic visuals, and historical artwork, the documentary seeks to immerse audiences in the drama and conviction of America’s founding era.
Regan said the goal was to create a film that is both educational and inspiring.
“American history deserves careful study,” he said. “We made this film with great care so that it is accurate, engaging, and offers audiences a meaningful look at the principles that shaped this nation.”
Revolutionary America marks the first theatrical release from Hillsdale Studios, which has reached millions through its educational documentaries and online courses.
