Grammy Winners Use Music’s Biggest Stage To Share Testimony, Proclaim Redemption, And Declare That Jesus Is For Everyone
At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, two artists used one of music’s biggest stages to proclaim a message of hope, redemption, and faith in Jesus Christ, reminding the world that even in mainstream entertainment, the Gospel still breaks through.
Country and Christian music star Jelly Roll was one of the evening’s biggest winners, taking home three Grammy Awards: Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken, Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance (for “Amen” with Shaboozey).
But beyond the trophies, it was Jelly Roll’s acceptance speech that reverberated across social media and news outlets and across millions of living rooms watching on live television.
Standing at the microphone with gratitude and emotion, Jelly Roll declared:
“Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no music label. Jesus is Jesus, and anybody can have a relationship with Him. I love you, Lord.”
He then shared the story of his own transformation from a broken past — one marked by struggles, despair, and even periods behind bars — to a life reclaimed through faith. Holding up his Bible, Jelly Roll explained:
“There was a time in my life, y’all, that I was broken … There was a moment in my life that all I had was a Bible this big and a radio the same size. And I believe that … God had the power to change my life.”
He thanked his wife, Bunnie Xo, and credited his relationship with Jesus as the anchor that saved him from a life that could have ended in death or prison.
Brandon Lake: Gospel Message on the Grammy Stage
Christian artist Brandon Lake, who shared the Grammy for “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” also used his moment before the crowd and cameras to lift up Jesus. In his acceptance speech, Lake thanked the Lord and reflected on the impact their collaboration has had on listeners.
“I’ve gotten countless messages of how this song has literally saved people’s lives and pointed them to Jesus,” Lake shared, before adding, “If it wasn’t for Jesus, I don’t know where I would be, y’all.”
Lake also referenced Scripture as he encouraged audiences to find peace in Christ even amid life’s hardest battles.
A Night of Gospel in the Spotlight
Their Grammy wins represent a moment where Gospel and Christian music intersect with mainstream pop culture and carry a clear, unapologetic message of faith to millions.
In an era where entertainment awards often mix politics, social causes, and performance, Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake’s testimonies for Christ on the world’s biggest music stage set the standard and point people to Jesus as the true source of life change and hope.
As Jelly Roll said plainly from the stage, “Jesus is Jesus, and anybody can have a relationship with Him.” That declaration, heard around the world, was the Gospel carried to millions on Grammy night.
