FBI Confirms Suspect’s Ties to Democratic Causes and Facebook’s Removal of Anti-Trump Posts
In a shocking event earlier today, Donald Trump survived a second assassination attempt while at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. In an email to his supporters, Trump reassured everyone, stating, “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!” The former president continued, declaring, “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!”

The FBI confirmed that Trump was the target of what they called “an attempted assassination.” The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh of Hawaii, originally from North Carolina, has a lengthy criminal record. Routh has been politically active in recent years, frequently posting about politics online. He exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes dating back to 2019 and was particularly vocal about his disdain for Trump. On April 22, Routh posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), “DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose,” signaling his strong political motivations.
Routh’s support for Ukraine, which he frequently highlighted in his posts, has also drawn attention to his connections. Adding a further twist, Routh’s Facebook account was wiped shortly after the incident, raising concerns about election interference. Trump’s supporters were quick to point out that this action from Facebook, led by Mark Zuckerberg, prevented the public from accessing Routh’s posts, many of which were reportedly anti-Trump and pro-Kamala Harris-Biden.
This assassination attempt follows a growing sense of political tension and division as the 2024 election season ramps up. Despite this attempt on his life, Trump remains steadfast, declaring his intentions to continue his campaign and fight for the country and individual freedoms, despite the Democrat’s rhetoric that Trump is a threat to democracy and embraces authoritarianism.
