Trump, Elon Musk Possibly Collaborating to Restore Communication in Hurricane-Stricken North Carolina, Franklin Graham Leads Prayer for Recover
As the Southeast reels from the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, Donald Trump has stepped in to support recovery efforts, teaming up with Elon Musk to restore communication in the most affected regions. During his visit to storm-stricken Valdosta, Georgia, Trump reaffirmed his commitment to help those impacted by the disaster alongside, Franklin Graham of Samaritan’s Purse, so far more than ssitting president, Joe Biden has offered. During a visit to the storm-stricken region, Trump announced his collaboration with Elon Musk, aiming to address a critical issue: the lack of communication in affected areas.
“I just spoke to Elon. We want to get Starlink hooked up because they have no communication whatsoever,” Trump said. “Elon will always come through. We know that.”
Prayer & Action
Trump reassured the local community, expressing his commitment to helping the region recover. “Our hearts are with you. We’re going to be with you as long as you need. You’re in our prayers, and we pray to God. There’s going to be a lot of work, but the end result is going to be good,” he said. “I just wish so many people weren’t so badly hurt or no longer with us.”
Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse and head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), thanked Trump for highlighting the plight of the community. “Thank you, Mr. President, for coming and helping to put a spotlight on this city, this state, and this region that has lost so much. May God bless you,” said Graham during the visit to North Carolina, where the BGEA is headquartered.
He wrote on X earlier today, “President @realDonaldTrump is right—this is an hour of need. I want to thank him for coming to Valdosta, Georgia, today where so many lives have been torn apart by Hurricane Helene. The hurting families and emergency officials who met with him couldn’t have been more grateful that he took the time to come and see the damage for himself. The storm may have passed, but the suffering hasn’t.”
Mobilizing Volunteers
Graham led a prayer for the hurricane victims, giving thanks for volunteers and asking for God’s guidance in the upcoming election. “It’s going to take an army of people to help respond,” he said.
Other Christian organizations are stepping up as well. Crisis Response International (CRI) emphasized the severe challenges posed by the storm, particularly the lack of communication, running water, electricity, and internet access. CRI is mobilizing a mobile kitchen to distribute food and has called for volunteers to join their efforts starting on Tuesday, October 1.
As North Carolina faces the long road to recovery, the combined efforts of Trump, Musk, Graham, and organizations like CRI are bringing much-needed hope and relief to those impacted by the storm.
