Iran Escalates Threats Against Enemies
President Donald Trump reported Sunday that U.S. military forces successfully destroyed multiple high-value targets in Iran, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing Middle East conflict.
“Big day in Iran,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Many long-sought-after targets have been taken out and destroyed by our GREAT MILITARY, the finest and most lethal in the World. God bless you all!”
The strikes come as Iran’s leadership intensifies its rhetoric against the United States. Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of the Iranian parliament, described the situation as a “major world war” and accused Washington of publicly signaling interest in negotiations while secretly preparing for a potential ground attack.
“Our enemy speaks publicly of negotiations while secretly planning a ground attack, without realizing our forces are waiting for the Americans to enter,” Ghalibaf said. He added, “We are in a major world war and must prepare ourselves for a long, difficult, and complex path.”
Iran has maintained an aggressive military posture throughout the conflict, with missile launches continuing unabated. Ghalibaf emphasized the role of Iran-backed groups in the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, allied forces in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen, calling them key components of Iran’s strategy.
He warned that Iran would not end its involvement without asserting its strength, saying, “We will not allow our enemies to leave without demonstrating our power and turning this war into a lesson for any aggressor.”
From a Christian perspective, the unfolding conflict reminds believers of the sobering reality of human aggression and the need for wisdom and discernment in international affairs. While nations may wage war, Scripture calls followers of Christ to pray for peace, seek justice, and remember that ultimate authority belongs to God, who establishes nations and hearts according to His purposes.
