Trump Pauses Iran Energy Strikes for 10 Days as Talks Progress, Demands End to Nuclear Ambitions
President Donald Trump announced a 10-day pause in the “period of Energy Plant destruction” involving Iran, as Iran is in shambles after the US and Israel obliterated Iran’s infrastruce including navy,
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the pause will extend until Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, adding that ongoing talks are “going very well,” despite what he described as “erroneous statements” from the media.
Trump emphasizes that negotiations remain active behind the scenes. He also made clear that a key condition moving forward is that Iran must halt any plans related to developing a nuclear weapon.
White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, told reporters Wednesday, “President Trump does not bluff and he is prepared to unleash hell. Iran should not miscalculate again, “If Iran fails to accept the reality of the current moment, if they fail to understand that they have been defeated militarily, and will continue to be, President Trump will ensure they are hit harder than they have ever been hit before,” Leavitt said Wednesday.
At this time, there has been no official public response from the Iranian leadership. Negotiators for the US include VP JD Vance, Sec. of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and businessman and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.
More updates are expected as diplomatic efforts continue.
