Coach Prime first credits God’s goodness for the success of the football program
“First of all, God is good,” said Deion Sanders, more affectionately known as Coach Prime.
“You know that. You know I trust the Lord with all my heart. He is at the helm of this thing,” Coach Prime shared on Good Morning America. The team has experienced a major turnaround season so far, going from 1-11 last year to 3-0 this season and ranked 19th in the nation. “We are just enjoying life. We are getting better, smarter, tougher, faster, disciplined, like-minded young men, like-minded coaches who love kids and who enjoy the company of kids.”
The Buffaloes take on 10th ranked University of Oregon Ducks this weekend in a true test of the team’s skill.
“We’ve created something that is hard to identify and hard to really articulate, but it’s a beautiful thing….It’s just pandemonium and we love it,” continued Prime.
That pandemonium includes sold-out games, merchandise selling faster than ever, and celebrities including Dwayne Johnson and Lil Wayne coming out to the games. Tickets are averaging between $500 – $1,000 for the University of Oregon game and up to $4,500 for the game versus USC on 9/30.
Sanders is enjoying the pleasure of coaching two of his sons, his daughter playing basketball, and his other son working the team’s social media. It truly is a family endeavor.
