“We are honored to host the Bible used in the 2025 Inauguration of President Donald Trump,” the Museum of the Bible stated. “Since the first inauguration in 1789, 43 of the 47 presidents have used the Bible as they were sworn into office. Come see the latest addition to our ‘Presidential Bibles’ exhibit on Floor 1 to see these pieces of history in person!”
The Bible, identified as a 1953 Revised Standard Version published by Thomas Nelson and Sons, was originally gifted to Trump in 1955 to mark his graduation from Sunday Church Primary School. It bears his name embossed on the front cover and includes inscriptions from church officials, adding a personal dimension to its historical significance. During the 2025 inauguration, Trump also used the revered Lincoln Bible—previously utilized by Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama—making him one of only three presidents to incorporate this iconic text into their oath.
