Organizers report thousands attended the Cheaha Area Crusade, with local churches continuing the work of discipleship.
More than 40 Alabama churches joined Go Tell America for the Cheaha Area Crusade, an evangelistic gathering that drew thousands, according to an October 7 Baptist Press report.
The outreach brought together pastors, volunteers, musicians and speakers, including evangelist Rick Gage’s team and North American Mission Board leader Shane Pruitt.
Organizers reported more than 320 commitments to Christ. Those figures reflect the ministry’s account of responses during the gathering.
Churches also prepared for what would happen after the meetings ended.
Prayer partners received training in sharing their faith and remained in contact with people who responded. Participating churches met during the outreach to pray and coordinate connections with local congregations.
Approximately 400 volunteers helped support the event, according to the report.
Joey Hanner, pastor of First Baptist Church Saks in Anniston and an outreach leader for the crusade, described follow-up as an intentional part of the effort.
The gathering featured worship led by Rush of Fools and speakers from ministry, sports and other backgrounds.
