New Jesus Movement Comes to 170 Cities
In the 1940s and 1950s holding outdoor church meetings and tent revivals was the popular thing to do for traveling evangelists. Preachers would take their meetings on the road and travel from city to city, put up their tents and thousands would hear the gospel. In more modern times, however, we’ve seen this less and less. Since the days of Billy Graham when whole stadiums were filled, the church’s influence has waned as evangelists are mostly behind closed doors inside a church, reaching fewer and fewer people.
Providentially, musician Sean Feucht and his team are changing that. In city after city across America, the ministry is gathering thousands of people to worship and pray for America. In a movement birthed out of COVID, Let Us Worship, Feucht and his team defied the governor of California’s “decree” to not sing in church and took the show on the road. Thousands are following them from sea to shining sea as a whole new movement of Jesus-loving worshippers arises who stand for freedom and resist the onslaught of secularism, communism, and socialism seeking to destroy America, freedom, and the Church.
According to Feucht, the call of Let Us Worship is to reject what he believes is a pancy theology. Now, what started as a petition standing up to the tyrannical tactics of Governor Gavin Newsom, has become a movement with thousands strong. As pastors signed on standing against Newsom, they realized they needed to do something. The first meeting was on the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. As they say, the rest is history as over 170 cities and events later the ministry has no sign of stopping anytime soon. These trips have led them from sunny California to the steps of the Supreme Court interceding for the ending of Roe vs. Wade, among other issues impacting America. Their recent trip to Boulder, CO brought out hundreds of worshippers, along with protestors who oppose the outdoor gatherings. Nevertheless, Feucht rejoices.
“We’re praying for prodigal sons and daughters all across this city, for those who are bound with addictions and perversions. Set the addicts and confused free,” Charisma reported.
“It’s full-blown revival. We were prophesying it before but now we’re seeing it,” explained Jay Koopman who works alongside Feucht leading the ministry.
Feucht shared, “Looking at the history and how the Lord prepared all of us for this season we are in, I am trying to encourage believers that they have what it takes…Make it real… the Word has to become flesh.”
The things we’ve been praying for so many years, we’re seeing right before our eyes,” continued Koopman.
In Fresno, CA they began seeing people get free from drugs and bringing them to the altar and leaving their drug paraphernalia at the altar on stage.
“People just came and ran and fell down on their knees without us even saying anything.”
“We’ve developed a twisted theology that allows for us to disengage from the world around us because we feel if we disengage it shows people we truly love them, that is a load of crap.” Feucht shared.
In spite of the opposition, the ministry maintains what they believe is needed to reach this generation and turn a nation back to God. “Fervor to worship God free from government edict and societal persecution drove America’s earliest settlers across oceans and wild frontiers to this beautiful land to create a new nation built on a simple premise that all men are created equal and cannot be denied their inalienable rights to life and liberty.
“Our freedom to worship God and obey His Word has come under unprecedented attack. Powerful politicians and social media giants have engaged in unchartered abuses of religious liberty, silencing the faithful, banning our voices, and outright attacking our God-given right to declare His goodness.
“States across America, including right here in California, have shut down church services and even outlawed singing in church. Instagram and Twitter are censoring Christian voices every single day. And with every hour that passes, they grow bolder in their efforts to silence the faithful.
It’s time for the Church to rise up with one voice and tell our government leaders and the rulers of big tech that we refuse to be silenced!”
