UniteUS brought its college worship movement to the West Coast as students gathered for worship, prayer and a call to follow Christ.
Thousands gather in Malibu
Thousands of college students from across Southern California gathered Tuesday at Pepperdine University’s Firestone Fieldhouse for Unite LA, the first West Coast stop for the UniteUS campus movement.
The event featured worship led by UPPERROOM and messages from Madi Prewett Troutt, Grant Troutt and UniteUS founder Tonya Prewett. Pepperdine said attendees who were committing their lives to Christ for the first time, along with students renewing their faith, were invited forward for final worship.
19 baptisms after the gathering
Following the event, 19 students were baptized in Pepperdine’s Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool, according to the university. UniteUS organizers separately said hundreds responded to the Gospel during the gathering.
UniteUS began at Auburn University in 2023 and has since expanded to dozens of college campuses. The movement’s next announced gathering is scheduled for Miami on Sept. 29.
