A Thursday study session will examine recommendations involving zoning, parking and infrastructure; no approval vote is scheduled.
The future of Corona del Mar’s commercial corridor returns to public discussion Thursday, September 17, as Newport Beach planning commissioners review recommendations intended to make the area more walkable and connected.
The study began in 2024 and examines zoning, parking and infrastructure along the village’s commercial corridor, according to the city’s meeting announcement.
What is on the agenda
City staff will present an overview of the study and proposed amendments intended to carry out its recommendations.
The session gives residents, property owners and businesses an opportunity to hear how the proposals are developing before a later public hearing.
The city says no action will be taken Thursday. Proposed amendments will return to the Planning Commission, which may then make a recommendation to the City Council.
How to follow the discussion
The study session is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 100 Civic Center Drive.
Residents can review the city’s announcement and linked study materials before attending. Any changes to development rules, parking requirements or infrastructure remain proposals at this stage.
