The soup-and-salad buffet plans to reopen its former Talbert Avenue location, but an opening date has not been announced.
Souplantation plans to return to Fountain Valley in 2027, bringing the buffet restaurant back to its former location at 11179 Talbert Avenue.
Company representative Marlee Lossing confirmed the location and planned reopening year to NBC 7. The announcement marks a California comeback for the brand after its restaurants closed in 2020.
The planned restaurant occupies approximately 7,800 square feet at the Shoppes at Costco Plaza, according to the Orange County Business Journal’s October 7 report. The chain operates under both the Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes names.
A company representative told Eater that the Fountain Valley restaurant would use the Souplantation name. The brand was known for its all-you-can-eat soup-and-salad format before the nationwide shutdown.
The announcement identifies both the intended city and a familiar address, giving Orange County customers a concrete location to watch as the return moves forward.
An exact opening date has not been announced. For now, 2027 is the stated target; the restaurant is not open for customers.
The October 7 announcement is a reopening plan, rather than confirmation that service has resumed. Families planning a visit should wait for the company to release its opening schedule and operating details.
