Orange County’s arts community gathered in Costa Mesa this week to recognize artists, leaders and supporters who have helped shape the local cultural landscape.
The 26th Orange County Arts Awards were held Sept. 29 at Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
Honoring Local Creative Leadership
The annual event, produced by Arts Orange County, recognized a group of artists, educators, arts leaders and philanthropists for their contributions to the county’s creative community.
Among those honored were artist Ann Phong, UC Irvine theater professor and director Eli Simon, and longtime arts supporters Janet and Walkie Ray.
A Countywide Celebration
Representatives from arts organizations across Orange County attended the event, which has become one of the region’s major annual gatherings for the arts community.
Arts Orange County serves as the county’s nonprofit arts council and supports advocacy, cultural planning, education and community arts programs throughout the region.
