The restaurant originated inside Drift Palm Springs and is operated by Irvine-based TMC Hospitality. The Costa Mesa location opened for dinner earlier this month and began full lunch service Sept. 23, according to What Now Orange County.

Executive Chef Marco Arreguín leads the kitchen. Arreguín grew up in Santa Ana and has worked in several notable Southern California kitchens, including Taco Maria.

The menu includes crudos, antojitos, larger plates and lunch options such as a barbacoa burrito and protein bowl. The restaurant also features an outdoor patio and a circular bar inside.

Maleza is located at 2937 Bristol St. in Costa Mesa, adding another independent dining concept to The CAMP and the surrounding SoBECA district.
