The festival’s 25th edition brings performances, hands-on activities and opportunities to meet organizations serving local children.
Orange County families looking for a weekend outing can find free activities and entertainment at South Coast Plaza during the 25th Festival of Children, running September 5–27.
The celebration features performances, interactive exhibits and creative activities while introducing families to nonprofit organizations serving children. It coincides with National Child Awareness Month, according to the Festival of Children Foundation.
A chance to play—and connect
For children, the attraction is the opportunity to explore and participate. For parents, the festival also offers a way to discover organizations, resources and volunteer opportunities in their own community.
Participating charities receive space to explain their work, connect with potential supporters and recruit volunteers. The foundation describes that outreach as a central part of the festival’s purpose.
Families can use the visit to start a simple conversation: What needs exist around us, and how might we help?
Plan your visit
The festival takes place at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. Activities and performances vary, so check the foundation’s current program before choosing your arrival time.
For families planning September 19–20 outings, the festival offers an opportunity to spend time together while getting to know the people working to strengthen Orange County’s next generation.
