The new recording brings together artists including Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Naomi Raine and Tiffany Hudson.
Tauren Wells released his first live worship album, Here Comes the Church (Live), October 2, bringing an extensive guest lineup to songs recorded before an audience in Austin, Texas.
The project was recorded at Austin City Limits’ Moody Theater and draws from Wells’ studio album Breathe On It.
Guest performers include Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Naomi Raine, Israel Houghton, Tiffany Hudson, Hulvey and Red Rocks Worship.
The track list includes “What a Miracle Feels Like” with Raine, “Bless Your Name” with Cobbs Leonard and the title song with Hudson. Abbie Gamboa joins Wells on “Thank You for the Cross,” while Sarai Rivera appears on “Gracias Por La Cruz.”
Wells has described the project as an effort to bring listeners from different musical and church communities together.
A companion release, Here Comes the Church — Second Service, pairs the live recordings with studio versions. Both editions arrived through Sparrow Records.
The music gives listeners two ways to hear the material: the original studio arrangements and the expanded performances recorded with a live audience.
