God Chose and Birthed Israel — and His Promises for Those Who Bless Her Remain Unshakable.
In light of rising antisemitism and recent criticisms of Israel from certain “conservatives” who may be more interested in clicks and contrarian views than anything else, it’s crucial to remember the Bible’s timeless promises about blessing Israel. These aren’t political opinions—they’re scriptural truths that warn against cursing God’s chosen people and promise blessings for those who stand with them.
To reiterate, Hamas started this war on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a barbaric assault on Israel, igniting the current war with a massacre that killed over 1,200 civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, in a display of unprovoked savagery. Their acts of rape, mutilation, and hostage-taking—over 250 people, many still captive—reveal a group committed to terror, driven by an ideology that glorifies violence and rejects peace. Hamas, designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. and others, embeds itself among civilians, using schools and hospitals as shields while firing rockets at Israeli cities. Israel has an undeniable right to defend itself against Hamas, terrorists who manipulate truth, exploit hostages, and pursue an evil agenda that harms even their people by prioritizing destruction over human welfare.
From the very beginning, God chose Israel — not because she was the largest or most powerful nation, but because of His covenant love and eternal purposes (Deuteronomy 7:6-8). That choice has never been revoked. It’s vital to remember what God’s Word actually says about the nation of Israel. Here are 12 promises from the word of God that encourage all people to love and support the nation and people who brought forth the Messiah:
1️⃣ God’s Covenant Promise
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” – Genesis 12:3
God’s original covenant with Abraham applies to his descendants. Blessing Israel invites God’s favor — and history shows those who turn against her face decline.
2️⃣ God’s Unbreakable Love
“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession.” – Deuteronomy 7:6
Israel’s chosenness is God’s doing — not man’s. We honor God when we honor His choice.
3️⃣ God’s Faithful Protector
“Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” – Psalm 121:4
God Himself is Israel’s Shield and Guardian. No amount of political pressure or global opposition can override His protection.
4️⃣ Touching the Apple of God’s Eye
“For thus said the Lord of hosts… he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.” – Zechariah 2:8
Harming Israel is like poking God Himself — a promise of protection that explains why anti-Israel rhetoric often backfires.
5️⃣ A Call to Pray for Jerusalem
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’” – Psalm 122:6
Loving and praying for Israel’s capital brings personal peace and prosperity, countering calls to divide or boycott it.
6️⃣ God’s Regathering Promise
“He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over His flock like a shepherd.” – Jeremiah 31:10
The rebirth of Israel in 1948 is a direct fulfillment of this prophecy. We are living witnesses to God keeping His word.
7️⃣ Nations Judged by Their Treatment of Israel
“I will gather all nations… and there I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel.” – Joel 3:2
God’s judgment includes how nations treat His people. How we stand today will echo into eternity.
8️⃣ God’s Defense of Jerusalem
“On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.” – Zechariah 12:9
God personally intervenes to defend His city. Attacking Israel is picking a fight with the Almighty.
9️⃣ God Has Not Rejected His People
“I ask then: Did God reject His people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject His people, whom He foreknew.” – Romans 11:1-2
The covenant still stands — Paul reaffirms it in the New Testament. Any theology that says otherwise is in direct conflict with Scripture.
🔟 Salvation Came Through Israel
“Salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.” – Romans 11:11
We owe gratitude to the Jewish people — our Savior came from them. Remembering this should stir humility, not pride.
1️⃣1️⃣ Jesus, the Lion of Judah
“See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.” – Revelation 5:5
Jesus is eternally tied to the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. To bless Israel is to honor the heritage of our Messiah.
1️⃣2️⃣ God’s Blessing Through Jerusalem’s Peace
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May they be secure who love you!” – Psalm 122:6
Peace in Jerusalem means peace for those who love her. Supporting her stability is both biblical and personally beneficial.
✋ Remember: God birthed Israel, God chose Israel, and God defends Israel. Standing with Israel is not just political — it’s biblical.
