GOP leader calling the move ‘election interference, voter suppression, and blatant attack on democracy’
In a blatant assault on the democratic process of “the people of the United States” voting for the leader of the free world, Maine’s Secretary of State defied all logic and single-handedly removed Donald J. Trump from the Maine ballot. The decision faces certain appeals and furthermore certain reverse after the Supreme Court hears the case, making the move nothing more than a political hack media stunt. Earlier this week, Michigan Supreme Court denied an attempt to remove Trump from their ballot after an unconstitutional decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to remove Trump from the state ballot earlier this month. That decision was immediately appealed and just today, the Secretary of State made the decision to keep Trump on the ballot despite her earlier claims. Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom refused to allow an attempt to take Trump off the ballot to move ahead in the state of California.
The decision by the Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows (D) is almost certain to force the hand of the Supreme Court of the US to review the decisions and make a ruling on the situation. Frankly, it appears that the move is nothing more than a political PR move by the relatively unknown Secretary of State attempting to run for US Senate. Further, the unilateral decision faced immediate condemnation by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of NY who issued an immediate release stating:
“Another day, another illegal and corrupt act by the desperate, radical Democrats weaponizing government against Donald Trump.” Stefanik went on to call the US Supreme Court to act and overturn this.
