Surveillance video shows at least a dozen people leaving a boat near Cypress Street as authorities investigate
A panga carrying at least a dozen suspected migrants arrived in Newport Beach Saturday afternoon before the group got off the vessel and dispersed into the surrounding neighborhood, according to surveillance video obtained by FOX 11.

The boat arrived near Cypress Street and reportedly struck and damaged a nearby yacht before being abandoned.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to the boat accident, and federal authorities were contacted regarding possession of the vessel.
Newport Beach police said there was no known threat to the city. Authorities had not publicly confirmed the identities or immigration status of the people shown leaving the boat as of the latest reports.
