26 people dead, CRI on the response
When disasters strike, one ministry has been on the ground serving food, supplies, and hope to survivors of natural and man-made disasters. Though the ministry has active deployments in Turkey and Ukraine, the Mississippi tornado that killed 26 people caught the attention of Crisis Response International (CRI) founder Sean Malone on his way home from Ukraine.
Malone updated his social media followers while on a layover in Germany regarding the tornado. “Many of you probably saw this morning that we had a really bad tornado in Mississippi that left 22 dead. We’re making preparations for deployment there. We’re looking for people in the region who can deploy and make some assessments for us, and we’re also looking for people who can drive equipment – mobile kitchen, tool trailer. Plans are underway. Working on that on our way home today as well as our team back home.”
CRI hosted its Crisis Response Ministry Training in Ukraine, equipping the church in Ukraine to minister in the midst of war. CRI was joined for the training by Dr. Mike Hutchings of Global Awakening and God Heals PTSD Ministries and Jordan Danchik of Whole Heart International in Iraq.
Meanwhile, 5 teams (Waves) of CRI responders have made their way into Turkey, responding to the massive earthquake that killed over 40,000 people. Teams have focused efforts on distributing supplies, providing food, setting up shelters, and rebuilding homes in the disaster areas.
