Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, shared on social media: “Here’s where we prayed The Lord’s Prayer yesterday at the Trump rally in Coachella, California. It was a beautiful thing to hear thousands and thousands of people pray that out loud.” The moment was a powerful display of collective faith, bringing faith into the public square.
Representing God’s Kingdom
Laurie, who is known for his evangelistic outreach and biblical teaching, took the opportunity to remind followers that his involvement at such events is not about endorsing a candidate but about representing God’s Kingdom. “I was asked last Saturday to speak and pray at a Trump rally in Coachella. I agreed to do so. BTW, If I was asked to speak at a Harris rally I would do so as well. When I go into settings like this, I go as a representative of God’s Kingdom,” Laurie emphasized.

The pastor also addressed the debate over whether Christians should engage in political settings, expressing his belief that faith can have a place in politics. “Some would say that Christians should not be involved in politics. I disagree,” he remarked, adding that his complete opening remarks and prayer from the event would be shared with his followers.

Laurie also highlighted that, aside from his role at the rally, he continues his pastoral work, mentioning his upcoming services at Harvest Riverside and Harvest Orange County, where he is launched a new sermon series titled “Jesus and You.”
