An IMB workshop focused on preparation, prayer and ongoing care for missionaries.
Representatives of 12 Oklahoma churches gathered October 5–6 to strengthen how their congregations prepare and support missionaries, according to the International Mission Board.
The Sending Church Lab at Council Road Baptist Church in Oklahoma City drew about 40 participants.
Church teams evaluated their missions practices and developed plans covering prayer, financial support, preparation and care during overseas service.
IMB organizer Bryan Wooten emphasized that sending missionaries involves continued encouragement and accountability, not simply helping them leave.
Participants included church leaders and missionaries, who discussed practical ways congregations can stay involved throughout an assignment.
