A Group of “Agitators” Harassed Officers All Day, Blocked Vehicles, and Impeded Operations
An ICE officer fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good (also reported as Renee Good) on January 7, 2026, during an immigration enforcement operation in south Minneapolis. Federal officials, led by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, described it as self-defense after Good “weaponized her vehicle” to ram officers, labeling it an “act of domestic terrorism.” The officer, who was struck by the vehicle, was treated at a hospital and released. The victim was Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old woman (mother of three, originally from Colorado, recently moved to Minnesota). The shooter was an experienced ICE officer (previously injured in a June vehicle incident). Noem defended the action as following training to protect life. Local leaders, including Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, disputed the account, calling it “preventable,” with Frey demanding ICE leave the city.
The incident occurred at East 34th Street and Portland Avenue in south Minneapolis, a residential area near immigrant communities and about a mile from the 2020 George Floyd site. ICE agents were conducting operations amid heavy snow; one vehicle got stuck, leading to a confrontation with protesters/agitators.
Agents approached Good’s SUV after she was accused of blocking/impeding them amid snow and harassment. Videos show officers demanding she exit; the vehicle moves forward/backward, then shots are fired through the window (hitting her in the head). The SUV crashed into parked cars.

Federal side: Part of a massive Trump administration work to deal with the massive illegal immigration crisis allowed under the Biden administration with 20 million illegals entering the US including “dangerous criminal illegal aliens,” fraud, and threats against officers (citing 1,300% assault increase, vehicle rammings). The operation tied to allegations of benefit fraud in Somali communities.
ICE is tasked with finding and removing these individuals from the US according to 8 U.S.C. § 1325 (Section 275 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, or INA). Organized resistance to ICE operations have been common in cities across the country.
