Yankee Stadium filled with worship & praise
Pastor Joel Osteen has a knack for filling stadiums. First, their church bought out the former Compaq Center in Houston, now they’ve taken the message of God’s love and hope in Christ to NY, occupying Yankee Stadium for his signature Night of Hope. Dubbed, “Hope Stadium” Osteen brought his usual mix of hope, humor, and heaven to the Big Apple and broadcast from New York City around the world to lift people up and encourage them.
“He’s a good God and has good things in store for you,” encouraged Nick Nilson of Lakewood church who served as the event host.
Pastor Joel brought a word of hope to NY
Pastor Joel started out through numerous appearances onstage before and after musical performances and shared, “Don’t fight every negative thing that happens to you, live from a place of peace, a place of the cross. Your steps are being ordered by the Lord. It’s not an accident you’re here tonight, it’s not an accident that you’re in a difficult time. God’s going to bring you through. Pass those tests.”
Osteen continued, encouraging attendees to believe God’s word, leading thousands in confessions of faith and hope for their future. “Don’t use your energy to worry, use your energy to believe. It takes the same amount of energy to believe.”
Joel along with his wife Victoria ministered and shared from their heart how God called them into ministry when they thought their lives were headed in a totally different direction. Their daughter Alexandra led in worship along with Lakewood Music, CeCe Winans, and internationally acclaimed grammy nominated musician Tauren Wells led thousands in worship in NY’s iconic Yankee Stadium.
Osteen brought his A game of hope
Osteen came with his A game, bringing a word of hope about the fire of trials we all experienced through the pandemic and many are going through today. Using the example of the sequoia tree pinecone that doesn’t open up to disperse it’s seed until the heat of fire causes it to open, Osteen said in a similar way there are seeds of God’s greatness in each one of us that won’t come out until we experience the fire. Citing examples of a controlled burn in the forest by rangers, fire can be used for good.
“It can seem like things are out of control…(in your business, illness, pandemic inflation, gas prices) It feels like a wildfire but God has you in a controlled burn. God has you in the palm of his hand, he sees what you’re going through, he knows who hurt you, what you didn’t get, what wasn’t fair, he wouldn’t have let you get in the fire if he wasn’t going to bring you out of the fire. The good news is you’re going to come out the same. The enemy meant it to stop you but God allowed it so he could promote you.”
Osteen encourages attendees that the fire of trials is going to be used by God to turn things around and bring about change and God is in control.
“That fire is opening up seeds to your destiny, levels you could have never reached without the fire.”
Joel spoke to the crowd of close to 20,000 that even trials will be used by God for your good.
“The fire is a sign that you’re about to bloom, to blossom, to discover talent, favor that you’ve never seen.”
