The connection between faith and sports is undeniable. The connection between education and faith goes back hundreds of years as missionaries and pastors started most of the Ivy League schools to further the training for ministry. Thankfully not all schools have gone full woke. There is no better way to perform at the highest caliber than to stay close to Jesus and know him because it’s in him that we are at our best and fully alive. Liberty University Football Coach Hugh Freeze know this. He brought the heat this week at the Christian university, challenging players and students to keep their eyes on the prize. Our model is Christ who for the joy of eternity in the presence of the Father and the inheritance of the saints, endured the cross and now is reaping the nations as his inheritance. Likewise, we too must endure pain and suffering because we are passing through on the way to the prize. We aren’t stopping short. We’re going all the way. For the joy set before him.
