President Issues Special Message to Christians Nationwide Plans Special Events at White House

The White House released a special message from President Donald J. Trump, joined by First Lady Melania, commemorating Holy Week—a sacred time for Christians worldwide. The message reflects on the profound significance of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection, emphasizing themes of sacrifice, redemption, and hope.

Echoing the President’s personal Truth Social post, he wrote, “This Holy Week, Christians around the World remember the Crucifixion of God’s Only Begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate His Glorious Resurrection and proclaim, as Christians have done for nearly 2,000 years, ‘HE IS RISEN!’” He continues, “Through the pain and sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we saw God’s boundless Love and Devotion to all Humanity and, in that moment of His Resurrection, History was forever changed with the Promise of Everlasting Life.”

Holy Week, beginning with Palm Sunday’s celebration of Christ’s entry into Jerusalem and culminating in the Paschal Triduum—Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday—invites Christians to meditate on Jesus’ journey to the cross and His triumphant resurrection. The White House message underscores that Easter’s glory is inseparable from Christ’s suffering, noting, “The glory of Easter Sunday cannot come without the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross.” Through His pain and death, humanity finds forgiveness and the promise of eternal life, symbolized by the empty tomb on Easter morning, where “light prevails over darkness.”

This year, the White House will host a special Easter dinner Wednesday with hymns from the Marine Corps Band, Christian opera by singer Charles Billingsley. Then on Thursday the President will welcome prominent Christian leaders such as Franklin Graham, Greg Laurie, and Jentezen Franklin. The gathering will focus on prayer, Scripture reading, and lifting up the name of Jesus, offering a powerful moment of unity and worship led by Liberty University. Franklin Graham, praised the event, saying, “What a contrast to Easter last year at the White House when President Biden declared the most holy day of the year on the Christian calendar ‘Transgender Day of Visibility.’” He added, “I’m thankful for President @realDonaldTrump and the White House Faith Office, and I look forward to being there this week.” Graham’s remarks highlight the significance of honoring Christ’s resurrection, especially in contrast to last year’s controversy. The White House message echoes this call to honor God and guide others toward Christ in a time when truth often feels obscured.

The President’s message also extends warm wishes, stating, “As we approach this Joyous Easter Sunday, I want to wish Christians everywhere a Happy and very Blessed Holiday. America is a Nation of Believers. We need God, we want God and, with His help, we will make our Nation Stronger, Safer, Greater, more Prosperous, and more United than ever before. Thank you, and HAPPY EASTER!” These sentiments align with the White House’s call to embody Christ’s love and obedience, even in hardship, as a model for navigating life’s challenges and reflecting the truth, beauty, and goodness of His teachings.

In a pledge to uphold Christian values, the Administration is committed to defending religious liberty, protecting the sanctity of life, and preserving faith in public spaces, including schools, workplaces, and government institutions. The President prays for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the nation, aspiring for America to remain a global beacon of faith, hope, and freedom.

Closing with blessings for families and the nation, the message reaffirms a vision for a future rooted in the eternal promise of Christ’s kingdom. As Holy Week unfolds, the White House invites all to reflect on the transformative power of Easter’s message and join in celebrating the hope of the resurrection.
