Multiple Fires Force Evacuations Across Los Angeles, Threatening Thousands of Homes and LivesEvacuation OrdersResources Available

Los Angeles is facing a devastating series of fires that have prompted the declaration of a state of emergency.

Multiple fires are currently threatening and spreading across communities across the region, including Pacific Palisades to Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and Altadena. Thousands of residents are being forced to flee their homes as these fires are fueled by dangerous 100MPH winds. Those not under evacuation orders are being asked to shelter in place as the fires spread and threaten lives and property.

Mayor Karen Bass issued a statement on Twitter (@MayorOfLA) confirming the city’s response to the crisis, saying, “We’ve declared a state of emergency to amplify our response to this devastating fire and clear a path for a rapid recovery.”

Evacuation Orders

Over 30,000 residents are now under evacuation orders, and more than 10,000 homes are at risk, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fires have caused significant damage to infrastructure, leaving more than 17,000 customers without power across Los Angeles County, as reported by PowerOutage.US.

In her statement, Mayor Bass expressed gratitude to the first responders, saying, “To the hundreds of brave firefighters and first responders who have been responding all day to this blaze – we thank you.” These courageous men and women are working tirelessly to contain the fires and protect lives.

Resources Available

The City of Los Angeles is providing resources and shelter to those impacted, and residents are encouraged to visit notifyla.org for real-time updates and emergency alerts. As the situation remains fluid, city officials continue to work aggressively to confront this crisis and ensure that those affected receive the support they need.

As the fires continue to rage, residents are urged to stay informed, follow evacuation orders, and shelter in place if directed to do so in order to ensure their safety and well-being.

Evacuation centers include The LA Dream Center, a faith-based organization that has also asked the community to join in prayer for those impacted. “🚨 WE ARE OPEN 🚨,” the organization posted across social media urging the community to utilize its space for those impacted. “The Dream Center is serving as an evacuation center for those affected by the fires in the Palisades and Eaton Canyon. If you or someone you know needs shelter and support, please send them our way—we’re here to help.”

Actor Chris Pratt also is leading his 8.2M X followers in prayer writing out his ask to the Lord, “Jesus protect the lives of those battling the flames and the lives of those who couldn’t evacuate.”

Editor’s Note: Please join us in prayer to Almighty God for those impacted by this crisis for safety and protection of residence in danger. Wisdom for government leaders, strength and help for first responders and guidance for aid workers.  In Jesus’s Name. Amen.
