A Berkeley IGS/L.A. Times survey released Wednesday found an unusually large undecided vote ahead of the Nov. 3 runoff.
Los Angeles Councilmember Nithya Raman had support from 39% of likely voters and Mayor Karen Bass had 28% in a UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies/Los Angeles Times poll released Wednesday. Another 33% were undecided.
The survey was conducted online Sept. 15–20 among 2,150 likely Los Angeles voters and had an estimated margin of error of about three percentage points. Polls measure voter preferences at the time of the survey and are not predictions of the final result.
Former candidate Spencer Pratt received 26% of the vote in the June primary. The new survey found that 63% of voters who said they backed Pratt in the primary remained undecided in the runoff. Among Pratt voters who had chosen a candidate, 22% supported Bass and 16% supported Raman.
Pratt has publicly criticized both runoff candidates and has not endorsed either one.
