Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott says his Christian faith shapes how he approaches football, adversity and his teammates.
Speaking after Dallas’ victory over Houston on Sunday, October 4, Prescott credited head coach Brian Schottenheimer with encouraging an environment where players can openly discuss their faith.
“We’re all here because of God,” Prescott said in remarks reported by The Comeback and Faithwire.
Prescott described God as his refuge through difficult experiences and said he sees football as part of a greater purpose.
He said the team’s response to victories and setbacks should include serving God and others. He also credited the Cowboys’ chaplains with helping players grow in their faith.
Prescott’s comments followed a comeback victory over the Texans. His discussion extended beyond the result, focusing on gratitude, leadership and the way players respond when circumstances are difficult.
“At the end of the day, it’s about giving Him the glory,” he said.
