President declares 12-hour mutual ceasefire set to begin, marking the official end of “The 12 Day War”
In an answer to the prayers of many, Monday, President Donald J. Trump declared that a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE” has been reached between Israel and Iran, potentially ending nearly two weeks of escalating hostilities that threatened to plunge the Middle East into full-scale war.
“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE… at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!”
According to President Trump, the ceasefire will unfold in a phased structure:
- Iran will begin a 12-hour ceasefire once both sides complete ongoing final operations.
- Israel will commence its 12-hour ceasefire following Iran’s, marking the second half of a 24-hour peace window.
- At the conclusion of that period, Trump says the war will be “saluted by the World” as officially over.
President Trump, who orchestrated the key strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities this past weekend, praised both nations for showing “stamina, courage, and intelligence” to resolve the conflict. The president dubbed the brief but volatile conflict “The 12 Day War” while emphasizing the broader implications for regional and global peace.
“This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East,” Trump stated, “but it didn’t, and never will!”
He concluded his post with a signature flourish:
“God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
A Surprise Turn
The announcement comes after days of heightened tension, with missile exchanges, and regional proxy flare-ups raising fears of a prolonged war. While official confirmation from the governments of Israel or Iran had not yet been released at the time of publication, Trump’s declaration has already sent joy across the nations.
A Pause or a Turning Point?
While the ceasefire—if upheld—would mark a dramatic de-escalation, analysts point to the US’s involvement in peace through strength that any agreement between Israel and Iran remains fragile. The two nations have been locked in a cold and sometimes hot conflict for decades, with this latest confrontation triggered by still-undisclosed intelligence and strikes.
Despite those long-standing tensions, some experts view this moment as historic.
Christian Leaders Call for Prayer and Discernment
As news of the ceasefire spreads, Christian leaders across the U.S. have called for continued prayer—for peace in Jerusalem, for discernment in the days ahead, and for a genuine move of God across the Middle East.
Pastor Robert Jeffries shared that Israel was God’s idea and his creation. “To support Israel first-of-all means to support Israel’s right to exist. The nation of Iran doesn’t believe Israel has the right to exist. Iran has as its stated objective to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, and there are other countries who believe that as well,” Jeffries explained.
“But in doing so, they are going against God himself. Unlike any other nation in the world, God created the nation of Israel. Israel was His idea, and He said Israel will endure forever. No other nation, including the United States has that promise, but Israel has that promise.”
While Trump did not mention future negotiations, many expect follow-up statements from Jerusalem and Tehran in the coming hours.
For now, the world watches and waits as the clock begins ticking toward the peaceful end to one of the most dangerous conflicts in the Middle East.
