While Americans struggle to recover from Hurricane Helene, Kamala Harris hosts scripted press conferences and offers insultingly small relief, while billions are sent abroad and migrants receive more support than our own citizens

In a moment that could only be described as peak absurdity, Vice President Kamala Harris announced a meager $750 grant “process” for Americans whose lives have been upended by the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Meanwhile, where is Joe Biden? The pittance offered to those who have lost everything contrasts sharply with the billions of dollars that this administration is so willing to throw at foreign governments and illegal migrants. It’s a slap in the face to American citizens.

The juxtaposition is staggering: as our own people struggle to rebuild after natural disasters, the Biden administration has sent $250 billion—and counting—to Ukraine. That’s right, $250 billion of taxpayer money handed to a country halfway around the world, while our own citizens get breadcrumbs. Sound familiar? Case in point, Maui, Hawaii. In the aftermath of one of our nation’s deadliest fires, also on the Biden watch, residents were given next to nothing to rebuild. Meanwhile, those who have entered the U.S. illegally are handed EBT cards to access whatever they need. The contrast reveals this administration’s misplaced priorities and truly what is at stake in the upcoming election.

Where is the aid for Americans in need?

The $750 grant isn’t even enough to cover one month’s rent for many, let alone the damage done to homes and livelihoods by a powerful hurricane. It begs the question: Where is the real aid for Americans and why does the current administration continue to prioritize other nations ahead of its own citizens? The message is clear—our government is more concerned with pandering to foreign interests and coddling illegal immigrants. The truth is, this administration lacks moral clarity and the Biblical principles and truth that has made this nation great.

Then there’s the spectacle of Kamala Harris herself, reading from a script during a press conference about the hurricane response. After watching her speak, how does the Vice President expect us to believe her “debate performance” was authentic? Let’s be real: her “debate win” was nothing more than carefully staged theater, with questions making their way to her one way or another ahead of time. There is no doubt. What we see in unscripted moments like this press conference only reinforces that point—her polished moments are pure fabrication.

‘Door to Door’ response?!

As if that wasn’t enough, Harris added insult to injury by claiming FEMA is going “door to door” to help those impacted. Seriously? Going door to door when hundreds of people have literally lost their homes? The absurdity of the statement only serves to highlight how out of touch this administration is with the real devastation on the ground. It’s more empty rhetoric—like the laughable $750 checks—meant to make it seem like the administration is doing something when in reality, they’re offering next to nothing.

And then there’s the media’s deafening silence on this glaring issue. You’d expect our country’s top journalists to hold the administration accountable for an appropriate response, right? Wrong. Instead, you visit CNN.com, and what do you see? Wall-to-wall coverage of Liz Cheney—an unelected former congresswoman who now parades herself as the “authority” on the January 6 incident. News flash: the American people know what happened to set up Trump on January 6, but apparently, CNN hasn’t. Instead of focusing on the aftermath of the hurricane and the administration’s weak response, they’re giving airtime to Cheney’s revisionist history.

Where is the media?

The lack of interest from the media in holding this administration isn’t just negligence—it’s an insult to the intelligence of every American who has endured the last four years. The truth is, January 6 has become a convenient distraction for the media to avoid talking about real issues, like how Nancy Pelosi refused to call in the National Guard despite clear warnings. But will CNN cover that? Of course not. Why would they? They’re too busy pushing their narrative and ignoring the struggles of Americans left behind by this administration.

We deserve more from our leaders. It’s time to demand that our elected officials serve the American people and protect our interests, rather than using their positions to profit from foreign deals and personal gain.

The American people are tired of seeing their hard-earned tax dollars shipped off to Ukraine, tired of watching illegal migrants get better treatment than citizens, and tired of a media that refuses to hold people in power accountable. Kamala Harris’s insult of a $750 grant is just the latest reminder of what this administration and a Harris term would mean. And the media, once again, is complicit in covering for their failures.

Time to wake up

It’s time to wake up. The only people benefitting from Biden’s policies are those far removed from the average American’s reality—foreign governments, migrants, and disgraced politicians like Liz Cheney who continue to cling to their 15 minutes of fame while the rest of us are left to pick up the pieces. Meanwhile, the American people are being fed staged performances and empty promises. Enough is enough. It’s time to vote our consciences and values this November.
