President Trump Reveals Eternal Perspective On Ukraine-Russia Peace Deal
After President Trump’s historic Alaska Summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, followed by another historic meeting Monday morning with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and a host of other European leaders, President Trump revealed what’s really behind his day and night work to bring peace to the war in Ukraine. On Fox & Friends this morning, President Trump called in with an unlikely explanation behind his motivation to stop the senseless, bloody, seemingly endless Russia-Ukraine war. The 79-year-old two-term President explained what’s driving his historic work to gain peace between the two conflicted nations. “I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,” he stated. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”

While no one knows who told the President he isn’t doing well, one thing is certain: the President is more God conscious than he has ever been. Since the assassination attempt on his life last July, the President has acknowledged that God saved his life so he could save America. What the President does need to remember and know is that salvation is a free gift through Jesus Christ alone. It’s a work that can never be earned or deserved. Once saved through faith, what’s at stake and on the line are rewards in heaven, which is what the President is referring to. Believers in Jesus are rewarded for their good works, which all would acknowledge would be of monumental proportions.
President Trump has done more for the cause of Christians in this nation than perhaps any President in history. We wrote about 6 things the President has done in the first 6 months for believers here. His work has been truly historic for people of faith and for that, we owe him and God our thanks. Trump’s courage has been second to none.
Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Truly, a Russia-Ukraine peace agreement would be a historic deal and one that would forever cement the President’s legacy as a man of peace. Even Hillary Clinton has stated that she would nominate the President for the Nobel Peace Prize were he to pull this off. The consummate deal maker, Trump is working around the clock to make this happen as if it were the next Trump Tower project. The former real estate magnate is certainly not a stranger to pulling off some pretty incredible feats and may just be the man for the job. With thousands of people dying every single day, President Trump refused to allow months to go by without a deal and has set the stage for a meeting with Zelenskyy and Putin which will be happening in a matter of days.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the press this morning that she believed the President was serious or joking with his comments. “I think the president was serious. I think the president wants to get to heaven, as I hope we all do in this room as well.”
There’s no doubt that President Trump’s perspective has changed since taking office for a second term. As he approaches 80, he has set his eyes on his heavenly reward. While he may not have been a committed Christian when coming into office, he has done more for people of faith than any President in modern history. Now he is working on a heavenly reward. Just remember, Mr. President, salvation is received as a free gift by grace through faith, everything else is a reward for a job well done.
