Life Surge President Shawn Marcell shares how the fast-growing movement is equipping believers to live with purpose, create financial margin, and boldly bring faith into the marketplace—with tens of thousands coming to Christ this year.

With More Than 23,000 Decisions for Christ in 2025 alone, Life Surge’s Events Are Mobilizing Believers

When the world shut down in 2020, few would have imagined that a live Christian event company launched in that very season would become one of the most dynamic Kingdom movements in America. But that’s exactly what happened with Life Surge — a faith-based organization now drawing hundreds of thousands to one-day gatherings across the country, uniting business leaders, entrepreneurs, and believers around a simple but profound mission: to use their gifts and talents for Kingdom impact.

“We teach people how to create and multiply resources for Kingdom impact,” said Life Surge President Shawn Marcell in an interview with Thrive News. “We go to cities across America with these large one-day events where thousands are gathering. God is using it to awaken people to their calling in the marketplace.”

From Pandemic Launch to National Movement

Launching a live event business at the onset of COVID-19 wasn’t part of the plan, Marcell admitted. “We started when COVID was just announced,” he said. “That’s not a great business plan—but God knew what we didn’t. People were hungry to gather again, and speakers were looking for places to minister.”

Through perseverance and faith, Life Surge’s early events in Florida paved the way for an explosion of growth. Today, the organization hosts events nationwide—each one combining worship, teaching, and practical equipping for business and financial stewardship.

A Move of God: 23,000 Decisions for Christ

What began as a marketplace ministry event quickly became a platform for revival.

“At first, we didn’t even plan to give an altar call,” Marcell said. “We assumed everyone there was already a believer. But when Nick Vujicic gave an opportunity to respond to the gospel, hundreds came forward. Since then, we’ve seen over 23,000 people give their hearts to Jesus in 2025 alone.”

The movement’s reach has extended far beyond the Bible Belt. “Our biggest responses have been in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco,” Marcell noted. “In San Francisco alone, over 1,400 people made a decision for Christ. It’s a sovereign move of God.”

Prosperity with Purpose

Life Surge teaches a biblical understanding of wealth creation—not prosperity preaching, but stewardship with purpose.

“Too often the church is over-inspired and under-equipped,” said Marcell. “We want people to understand how to steward their resources wisely. Wealth isn’t about greed—it’s about margin. The more margin you have, the more you can bless others and advance God’s Kingdom.”

He added that the parable of the talents serves as a guiding principle. “It wasn’t about money—it was about faithfulness. God commended the multipliers. We want to help believers multiply for the glory of God.”

Faith and the Marketplace

Featuring world-class speakers such as Tim Tebow, John Maxwell, the Benham Brothers, and Bethel Music, Life Surge brings together leaders from business, sports, entertainment, and ministry—all united around one purpose: to inspire believers to live missionally in every sphere of influence.

“Your work is your worship,” Marcell said. “When you understand that, it changes everything—how you negotiate, how you treat employees, how you see your purpose. God didn’t call you to just survive the nine-to-five. He called you to thrive and make an eternal impact.”

Accessible, Affordable, and Mission-Driven

Despite its high-profile speakers and worship leaders, Life Surge events remain surprisingly affordable. “We never wanted price to be an obstacle,” Marcell said. “We’re a for-profit business that’s boldly Jesus-first. We’ve never raised a single dollar in donations—but we’ve been blessed to give far more value than we take.”

Life Surge also offers extended education programs and mentorship for those seeking to grow deeper in faith-based entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Looking Ahead

As Life Surge enters its fifth year, the movement continues to expand into new cities—including Los Angeles, Baton Rouge, and West Palm Beach—and is preparing for a national three-day conference this spring.

“Honestly, we’re just in awe of what God’s doing,” Marcell reflected. “We’re watching people come alive in their purpose, families being unified, and entire communities impacted for the glory of God.”
