In a recent podcast, Greg Laurie, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, responded to pop star Lady Gaga’s (real name Stephanie Germanotta) heartfelt comments on her spiritual journey and battle with chronic pain. Laurie praised Gaga’s insightful reflections on faith and pain, offering biblical context to her statements and extending a spiritual invitation to the renowned artist.
In a past interview, Lady Gaga shared her thoughts on faith, pain, and gratitude, revealing, “I consider myself a spiritual, religious woman. I don’t go to church every Sunday, but I do pray every day.” She expressed how her struggle with chronic pain has given her a newfound understanding of life’s purpose, saying, “God was saying to me, I’m going to show you pain, and then you’re going to help other people who are in pain.”

He explained that his faith in God helped him survive that dark period, quoting Psalm 119:67, “Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I have kept your word.” He noted that pain often serves as a wake-up call from God, a sentiment echoed by C.S. Lewis who once said, “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains.”
Laurie concluded his commentary with a call to action, inviting Lady Gaga and listeners alike to turn to God in their moments of suffering, knowing that He has a plan for their lives. “He loves you, and He’s only a prayer away,” Laurie reassured.
