Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called on Americans this weekend to fight back, get ready for battle, and put on God’s full armor. DeSantis spoke at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit, Friday night and called on American’s to begin speaking their voice, to push back against the left’s woke ideology. But he warned, they will come after you, but people need to use common sense. A little common sense will go a long way.

DeSantis, speaking to thousands of students at the event in Tampa organized by Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA said now is the time for courage.

“In times like these, it’s not enough to be just right on the issues. There is no substitute for courage. You got to have the courage of your convictions. You’ve got to have backbone. You’ve got to be willing to stand up when it’s not easy.”

Standing against the woke mob in schools

DeSantis also went on to take a stand against woke mob violence and the attempt to indoctrinate children in schools.

“If you’re engaged in mob violence you are not getting a slap on the wrist you are getting the inside of a jail cell but you know the question that people will ask me is like why are they doing this why how could you think it’s good to open your border or empower criminals where does this come from and I’ll tell you the root of all of this is the woke ideology.

“I think this (woke ideology) is a mind virus that is destroying any institution that it gets a hold of and we see it and probably many of you see it in our education system. I can tell you this, in the state of Florida, we’ve drawn a very clear line in the sand we’ve said that the purpose of our education system is to educate our kids not to indoctrinate our kids. We believe that and because we believe this is a great country and one worth respecting and fighting for we have banned critical race theory in our k-12 schools. They want to use CRT to distort American history so that they can delegitimize our founding fathers and our founding institutions and the founding principles of this country and they want to replace it with their leftist ideology and that will be a disaster for our society, and our country. So we make sure in Florida we do not use our tax dollars to teach our kids to hate this country or to hate each other on the basis of race,” said DeSantis.

“Get ready for battle. Put on the full armor of God. Take a stand against the lefts; schemes. Stand firm with the belt of truth around your waist. You will face flaming arrows but the shield of faith will protect you.”

DeSantis said his strategy is working, textbooks are changing and taking out CRT and reshipping the books. Instead, they are doubling down on teaching the values of this nation and the founding vision of our nation and our Constitution as the fix for the division in our country, not the cause.

Addressing the Disney saga

DeSantis went on to addressed the Disney saga and how he won that and they will now pay their fair share of taxes and stay out of running the state of Florida once and for all. I don’t care what the media says. I don’t care what the left says. I don’t care what corporations like Disney say. I did not take an oath of office to subcontract out my leadership to a California-based corporation with close ties to the CCP. No, they don’t run the state of Florida, we run the state of Florida and we will make sure of that.

He then called on Americans to stand for their faith, trust in God and use the shield of faith against the attacks of the left.

In 2022, this November is going to be the time when America fought back.”
