Iran Strikes: “Nuclear Sites in Iran Are Completely Destroyed”
A whirlwind of “fake news” reports followed the US’s highly sophisticated and successful strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities and historic ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, brokered by President Donald J. Trump. While many hailed the agreement and strikes as monumental and historic, the NY Times and CNN refused to acknowledge the success and instead ignited a new battle—this time over truth.
President Trump took to TRUTH Social Monday, accusing legacy media outlets of undermining what he called “one of the most successful military strikes in history.”
“FAKE NEWS CNN, TOGETHER WITH THE FAILING NEW YORK TIMES, HAVE TEAMED UP IN AN ATTEMPT TO DEMEAN ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MILITARY STRIKES IN HISTORY,” Trump wrote. “THE NUCLEAR SITES IN IRAN ARE COMPLETELY DESTROYED! BOTH THE TIMES AND CNN ARE GETTING SLAMMED BY THE PUBLIC!”
The president’s comments follow a wave of articles from major outlets casting doubt on the extent of the destruction inflicted on Iran’s controversial Fordow uranium enrichment facility, a key target in the strike. Some outlets cited anonymous “leakers” who read a preliminary report and spun the report and illegally leaked sources suggesting the damage was “limited” or “inconclusive.”
But according to Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, who appeared on FOX News, the strike achieved its objective without question.
“We put 12 bunker buster bombs on Fordow. There’s no doubt that it breached the canopy,” Witkoff said. “And there’s no doubt that it was OBLITERATED. So, the reporting out there that in some way suggests that we did not achieve the objective is just completely preposterous!”
Fordow, located deep inside a mountain near the city of Qom, has long been considered one of Iran’s most fortified nuclear sites—capable of surviving conventional strikes. The alleged precision strike comes after months of rising tensions, including Iranian proxy attacks on U.S. and Israeli interests throughout the region.
The historic ceasefire deal ended the 12-day war, which Trump announced on Sunday night, included a 12-hour cooling-off period, during which both Iran and Israel agreed to halt hostilities and allow backchannel diplomacy to continue. The announcement came after what Trump called “final missions” had been completed.
A Propaganda War
Secretary of State Marco Rubio shared this in response to a reporter’s question at the NATO Summit earlier today in the Netherlands. “First of all, all this stuff about the intelligence. This is what a leaker is telling you the intelligence says, this is the game they play. They read it and they go out and characterize it the way they want, this is the game they play,” shared Rubio discrediting the reports by CNN and the NY Times. “The conversion facility, which is necessary for producing a nuclear weapon, is nowhere to be found on the map. It’s completely gone. Wiped out,” explained Rubio.
As dust settles—both literally and figuratively—the American people are seeing through the media’s framing as yet another attempt to discredit President Trump and his peace through strength philosophy that so far, has made all the difference.
