Former Survivor contestant and TV host Elisabeth Hasselbeck this week returned to The View bringing conservative values and Christian viewpoints to the center stage of our culture.
Hasselbeck immediately made her presence on the show known, sharing her views on abortion – pro-life and pro-intelligent design by a loving God and the new book she wrote along with the help of her kids – Flashlight Night, An Adventure in Trusting God. The book helps spark conversations of faith among our kids and helps parents to know what’s going on in our kid’s faith journey.” “We were seeing some things we were asking God for not come true and I didn’t know how to deal with that with the kids. So we had the kids write their prayers, hopes, and fears on the wall and then go back to the wall later maybe a week, month, or two months.” She explained they then went back to the wall and shine the light on the things God has given them an understanding on and where they are in the dark, they can admit that even in darkness they can choose to trust God anyway.

Hasselbeck brought a pro-life view to the table and was not shy about sharing where she stands on the popular daytime tv show. The Emmy-award-winning daytime talk show is in its 26th year running. Hasselbeck was a part of the show for 10 years from 2003 – 2013 and is back this week. Hasselbeck got her break in the TV world when in 2001 she appeared on the second season of Survivor, finishing in fourth place. Shortly after her stint on Survivor, she married NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck in 2002 and joined as host of The View in 2003.
“I think one thing we are failing to mention to women as women is there are options out there that extend beyond abortion. I personally believe not because I believe life has value but because I believe our Creator assigns value to life and those lives have a plan and purpose over them as designed by God that are not limited to the circumstances of conception nor the situations they are born into. But I do think there are options out there there are thousands of agencies that wrap around women that might not be able to care for the baby once born or may not want the baby when they are pregnant or maybe it was unexpected and they are in a hard situation. but they will come around at no cost and wrap around you. Look for those non-profits.”
“That option is real and it’s out there,” explained Hasselbeck.
I don’t believe in giving women half the information out there. I believe those lives have a precious value on them,” she continued.
Whoopi Goldberg responded that her relationship with God is and always has been choppy and that God made her smart enough to know when it’s not going to work for her or you. She said it’s not her place to tell another family what will or will not work for them. She then said I do know God said to love your neighbor as yourself to which Hasselbeck rebutted, “What about the life in the womb?”
Hasselbeck pointed to the intelligent design by God on that child and that no child deserves the death penalty.
“That life has a plan and purpose designed by God and there are any circumstances that we should give the death penalty to an innocent child.”
