Trump Announces U.S. Bombing of Iran’s Nuclear Sites, Declares “Fordow is Gone” and Calls for Peace
President Donald J. Trump announced that the United States has successfully executed a major military strike on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities, including the heavily fortified Fordow site, as well as Natanz and Esfahan.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account, @realDonaldTrump. “All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”
In a follow-up post, Trump doubled down on the success of the mission, declaring simply:
“FORDOW is gone.”
Fordow, located deep underground and heavily shielded by rock and concrete, is considered one of Iran’s most secure and secretive nuclear enrichment facilities. Natanz and Esfahan are also critical to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Trump’s statement marks the first direct engagement by the U.S. against Iran since Israel began the attacks last weekend.
International Reactions and Fallout
Iran has previously warned that any attack on its nuclear facilities would be met with a “crushing” retaliation. If confirmed, the alleged strike could prompt swift military or cyber responses from Tehran or its regional allies.
Trump ended his post with: “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!” confirming the U.S. position that Iran can not under any circumstances possess a nuclear weapon.
According to FOX News, President Trump plans to address the nation at 10PM EST tonight.
