Actress stops everything and prays for young man on Skid Row this Christmas

Actress Christina DeRosa may be known for the dozens of films and acting roles she has played throughout her decorated acting life that started at the young age of 8, but this Christmas, she decided to give back to the community she calls home – Los Angeles, California. That giving back included serving at the Los Angeles Mission and praying with and for those who come to the Mission in need.

Every day the Los Angeles Mission opens its arms and hearts to the poor of LA to provide food, shelter, clothing, and recovery programs. At Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, they open their hearts especially wide, throwing a holiday event like no other. This year, DeRosa and others decided to join in the festivities and bring hope to the hurting. Serving thousands of people a hot meal, gifting toys for children, provided haircuts, manicures, and clothing for anyone in need, as they’ve done for the last 85+ years.

At this year’s event, DeRosa decided to step out of her comfort zone and pray with one of those in need of hope this Christmas. She shared on her Instagram account that she heard a voice within her saying to the effect go snd pray with him. “I saw a young man praying 🙏🏽 over his meal 🍲before he ate so the voice within me said “ask him if he wants you to pray over him…”

And that’s exactly what she did. DeRosa stopped everything and prayeed with the young man, and the impact of her prayers and acts of kindess may be felt for years to come. She then challenged her 35,000 followers and asked, “How are you celebrating this special season?” Our hope is she pointed at least one person in need this season to the only One truly worth celebrating and serving this Christmas and always, Jesus Christ.
