Shortly before the tragic loss of 19 students and 2 teachers in Uvalde, Texas, one of the victims – 9 year old Ellie Garcia shared her faith with the world on Tik-Tok and is being remembered for her faith and prayer life.
“Hey, guys. I just wanted to give you a little catch-up,” Ellie posted to Tik-Tok shortly before her death.
“Jesus. He died for us. So when we die, we’ll be up there with Him,” she said. “In my room, I have three pictures of Him.”
Ellie’s father Steve Garcia posted the Tik-Tok video to his Facebook page to remember his daughter and support a special GoFundMe memorial for his daughter. At the time of publication, the fundraiser has far surpassed the $50,000 goal at over $126,000 raised to date.
Comments to Steve’s posts came pouring in as the post went viral across the social network:
Amy Isbell commented, “Oh, this sweet precious girl. My heart has been broken since 5/24 and seeing her professing her faith, she knew exactly where she was going and I hope that that gave her some peace in her final moments here on earth.”
Over 2,000 comments poured in as the world reached out to share love and hope with families grieving.
Kelly Anderson shared, “Senseless tragedy?? Praying for your family. I know you take great comfort in knowing she is in the arms of Jesus.??????
Steve then posted more about the faith of his precious daughter, sharing her love for prayer and relationship with Christ writing on social media. “
“She prayed every night out loud so we can pray with her…I remember this day we had just bought the lamp that is on and she wanted to sleep with it on so she aired up her air mattress gave Us a hug and kiss and went to pray as mom made treats in the kitchen!!! These memories are all I have left.”
