Historic Gathering To Re-establish America As ‘One Nation Under God’
Thousands of Americans are expected to gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on May 17, 2026, for Rededicate 250, a national day of prayer, worship, and thanksgiving marking the lead-up to America’s 250th birthday.
Part of the broader Freedom 250 initiative, the event will bring together citizens from all 50 states for a day centered on Scripture, testimony, music, and prayer, culminating in a public rededication of the nation as “One Nation Under God.”
The gathering will feature three themes: reflecting on God’s providence throughout America’s history, sharing testimonies of faith, and seeking God’s blessing and guidance for the nation’s future.
A special observance, Shabbat 250, will precede the event from May 15–16, encouraging Jewish Americans to honor Sabbath rest and reflect on America’s legacy of religious freedom.
Notable speakers and participants include Speaker Mike Johnson, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Ben Carson, Franklin Graham, Bishop Robert Barron, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, and Eric Metaxas, with musical performances by Chris Tomlin, Blessing Offor, Liberty Worship Collective, and military bands.
The free event runs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET and will also be livestreamed nationwide through partner churches and ministries.
Organizers describe Rededicate 250 as a historic opportunity for Americans to come together in gratitude for the nation’s past and prayerfully seek God’s direction for the next 250 years.
