“This has been an adventure like no other,” Grylls shared. “When I heard the stories of Jesus and the impact He had on people, I felt compelled to walk where He walked and understand Him more deeply. Jesus is all about love, forgiveness, and calling us back to Him. I want viewers to join this adventure and see these truths for themselves.”
The series features Grylls trekking through the rugged mountains, deserts, and waters of Israel’s Holy Land, retracing Jesus’ steps while seeking a fresh perspective on His life and ministry. Along the way, biblical scholars, historians, and local experts share insights into the cultural and historical backdrop of Jesus’ time.

Jesus: Refugee, Renegade, Redeemer invites viewers to experience Jesus as a refugee fleeing oppression, a renegade challenging the religious and social norms of His day, and a redeemer whose sacrifice changed the course of history. It’s a spiritual journey Grylls describes as his most meaningful project to date.
“It’s the series I’m most proud of ever making,” Grylls added. “I pray it moves people from every nation to kneel down and find home in Him.”
