Event to Feature Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger and YouVersion Founder Bobby Gruenewald
Gloo, the premier technology platform committed to uniting the faith ecosystem and unleashing its collective potential, announced its second annual AI & the Church Hackathon, set to take place from September 13-15, 2024, in Boulder, Colorado. The event aims to accelerate the development of AI-based technology to foster human flourishing and organizational success. Gloo will distribute over $250,000 in cash prizes to the top teams.

The hackathon will bring together technologists to create AI solutions for the Church, while organizational and network leaders will participate in working group sessions on the ethical use of AI. Pat Gelsinger, CEO of Intel and Gloo’s Chairman of the Board, will attend in person to speak on “The Power of AI to Do Good.”
AI for good
“AI is one of the most powerful technologies in the world today, and it holds tremendous potential for doing good,” said Gelsinger. “We believe in harnessing the power of AI to create positive impact, and I am excited to see how the great minds at the Gloo AI & the Church Hackathon will innovate to serve human flourishing and church thriving.”
Additionally, Bobby Gruenewald, Founder and CEO of YouVersion, will participate as an advisor and speaker. YouVersion’s Family of Apps, including the Bible App, Bible App Lite, and Bible App for Kids, have been downloaded on more than 800 million devices globally.

The AI & the Church Hackathon will center on the theme of “Redemptive AI for Human Flourishing” and will accept up to 40 teams. Teams are encouraged to apply immediately.
