Shilo Creed on Faith, Music, and Her Mission to Inspire a Generation

“The Lord called me to write. That is my purpose,” Creed shared in a recent interview. For the author of 38 novels, Plunged represents the culmination of years of preparation—a deeply personal work inspired by her faith journey and shaped by her life experiences.

A Story Rooted in Faith

Creed’s inspiration for Plunged stems from a pivotal moment in her life when her heart stopped beating at the age of 32. “I had just made the commitment to trust God completely for healing,” she recounted. “Two weeks later, my heart stopped. It took me years to unlearn doubt and to stand firmly on the truth that God’s Word never fails.”

This transformative experience laid the foundation for Plunged, a novel that parallels her spiritual journey. The protagonist, Jacob Carter, is a Navy SEAL thrust into a military experiment that reveals the spiritual side of the world. Through Jacob’s eyes, readers encounter a powerful narrative about overcoming fear and doubt and developing spiritual strength.

Blending Science Fiction and Scripture

Although Creed has written across multiple genres, from romance to thriller, Plunged challenged her in unprecedented ways. “This series is God’s book,” she explained. “It was His idea, and I had to get it right.” The journey to completion involved numerous rewrites as Creed sought to faithfully convey the spiritual themes central to the story.

Interestingly, her dive into quantum physics informed the book’s sci-fi elements. “The more I learned, the more I realized how much quantum physics proves God’s Word,” she said. “It’s incredible to see how faith works through the lens of science.”

Faith That Transcends Genres

Creed’s ability to create relatable characters and engaging narratives has earned her widespread acclaim. Kirkus Reviews described Plunged as “vivid, gripping, remarkable” and noted its ability to appeal to both Christian and non-Christian audiences alike. Creed was both shocked and thrilled by the praise. “I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “To have a secular reviewer acknowledge the value of this story was incredible.”

What’s Next in the Series?

The Three Worlds series promises a thrilling continuation of Jacob Carter’s journey. Plunged introduces readers to a fast-paced world filled with action and spiritual discovery. Creed hints that future installments will deepen the exploration of faith, science, and the spiritual battles that mirror the physical world.

“Brace yourself,” she said with a smile. “There’s a lot of action, fight scenes, and moments that will challenge readers to think about their own faith journey.”

Encouragement for the Body of Christ

At its core, Plunged seeks to inspire believers to act boldly in their faith. Creed’s hope is that readers will walk away with a deeper understanding of God’s promises and the importance of spiritual growth. “It’s His Word that gives the promise,” she emphasized. “Our job is to believe it and speak it.”

Shilo Creed’s Plunged is available now, with more installments in the Three Worlds series on the horizon. Whether you’re a fan of science fiction or seeking a faith-affirming read, Plunged offers an unforgettable journey into the depths of belief and resilience.
