A sign of hope and faith based content
In a sign of hope for Disney, the corporate giant that has suffered several blows for its woke ideology content just released Devon Franklin’s Flamin’ Hot on its Disney+ streaming platform.
The film follows the success story of Richard Montañez, a Frito Lay janitor who developed the idea for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, disrupted the food industry by integrating his Mexican heritage to turn Flamin’ Hot Cheetos from a snack into an iconic global pop culture phenomenon. Directed by Eva Longoria, writers Lewis Colick, Linda Yvette, Chávez Richard Montanez and starring Jesse Garcia, Annie Gonzalez, Emilio Rivera, the film serves as inspiration and confirmation of the American Dream, a hope and vision that seems to be fading.
‘I was amazed by the story’
“I wanted to make this movie because I was just amazed by the story,” Franklin told Christian Headlines. “When Richard told me his story, I just said, ‘Wait a minute, how do you go from being a janitor, to becoming a corporate executive?'”
Montañez became VP of multicultural sales and community promotions at PepsiCo, a company division and serves as a success story and inspiration for others.
Love letter of faith
“The movie is a love letter to the power of faith,” Franklin continued. “And it has a real impact on people. I mean, I’ve seen this movie play in front of audiences all around the country. And I would definitely say that those that have seen it, their faith has been improved. And I think that when people see this movie, especially in the faith community, I think they’re gonna relate to Richard’s story, and relate to his family and relate to his journey.”
